Katherine Kidd

Man, I am loving Katherine Kidd's current collection. High fashion never ceases to amaze me, because although some collections may sometimes be considered as banal or lacking in character I beg to differ.

This particualr collection is so beautiful in its simplicity alone. The structured tailoring, the neutral tones and the beautiful element of playfulness introduced by the intimate detail of the fabric, stitching and embellishments. How can I not do anything but simply hold such cleverly coy collection close to my heart and hope acquire an occupation that would allow me to afford clothes from such a desirous line as this?

It just looks so effortlessly chic, serious yet playful and somewhat alluring because of its suggestive aura. Because even though the pallette seems aloof and impersonal, the detail makes it seem mellow and warm. The detail! The detail, the detail... Can we ask for more? I could go on... but instead I'll give the keyboard a break and just daydream.

Tea time at Succulent

When my dahling friends came over, my dear friend Lebo decided to introduce us to this lovely restaurant in Woodlands called Succulent! Just imagine a Mad Hatter's tea party with a childhood-inspired chandelier, inverted and enlarged tea cups on saucers used as lights, upliftingly quaint wallpaper and vintage posters, cookie tins and tea cups. And, of course, I should not forget to mention a mouthwatering array of the yummiest, decadent cakes and tarts that you ever did see - Red Velvet, "Dieter's Nightmare", caramel cheesecake, the works! And I haven't even described half of it.

Let me walk you through this charming little eating place with a few pictures I took. And let me tell you, I looked like such a tourist because I couldn't stop taking pictures. I also managed to steal a few pics from my friend, Naledi. Enjoy :)

The shop

They should definitely be expecting me back very soon!

Dancing With Myself (aka Blogging to myself)

So let's face it. I only have three followers. Three of which one of them is, indeed (and very sadly), myself. The other two are my close friends whom I have basically forced to follow me (bless them). But does that get me down? NO, I say, because one day I will be so famous, fellow bloggers will be lined up on my "followers" list and I will laugh about the days when I had none. A girl can dream, can't she? In fact, right now I am posting all of this rubbish because I know no-one will read it (this is all being said in a light-hearted manner, of course). It's like the Billy Idol song - Dancing With Myself:

"On the floor of Tokyo
Or down in London town to go, go
With the record selection
And the mirror's reflection
I'm dancing with myself
"

It's fun dancing with your mirror's reflection, right? In fact, I do it all the time. Why change now that I've been introduced to the fabulous world of blogging? One, might I note, that I've known of all along, but have never ventured into until now. So who can blame all of those who don't give it so much as a first glance?

We all need our own forms of self-fulfillment. Well, this is one of mine. :)

"So let's sink another drink
'Cause it'll give me time to think
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance
And I'll be dancing with myself"

Kind Regards and Lots of Love to all who do read this blog, of course. :)

Market on Main

Vintage

"Love Jozi" - I found this particularly funny. It's sad but true ;)

My purchases:

This Sunday I went to this fabulous market on Main street, Johannesburg. My friend was telling me about it so we decided to go together. What you can mainly find there is food as well as vintage and designer clothing.

There'll be days like this

Jackpot by Carly Gry. Just one of the item's I've managed to "borrow" from my mother's closet. Man, I love this jumper. It's so laid back and warm.

Lookbook.nu

I finally decided to start a lookbook account. :)

Buuut until I get my camera working again, I'm going to have to take picture with my phone... C'est la vie.
